The only thing I could take exception to is your assertion that there has been a lack of commentary on Trump’s decision to resurrect the Bush Doctrine. Perhaps mainstream commentators haven’t taken notice, but many of my Trump supporting friends (and Substackers) have taken note and are decidedly unhappy about it.

I’m not sure if I’ve seen anyone use the term “preventative war” but the sentiment is largely “we voted for this guy because he said he’d keep us out of wars over there,” and “this just feels like a repeat of Bush’s mistakes.” I’ll look around and see if I can find specific examples when I have some time to dig back through everything I’ve been reading on here.
